Camping, kayaking adventures, four-wheel driving, gear reviews, fishing and build projects! I'M AN AUSSIE BLOKE WHO LOVES THE OUTDOORS! I have had a love for the outdoors ever since I was a kid growing up on a beef farm in the foothills of the Victorian High Country. The summers were spent camping and fishing on the many local rivers with frequent trips into the mountains by 4WD while the winters consisted of snow skiing, hunting rabbits and foxes, building tree houses and general tomfoolery. My father was and is a keen outdoorsman and instilled these great passions in me as a young and keen enthusiast and for this I am forever grateful to him for sharing these times with me.
Now as a grown man I wish to share my passion with as many people as possible and some day do the same for my sons as my father did for me.
Being outdoors is my life-blood and my energy.
Make it yours, GO BUSH!

First off, thanks again for for the sleeping diagonal idea. Been doing it full tome now for 3 months. I have the kings 1300mm draws and on top of them is a queen foam mattress from amart furniture (trimmed) and a kings 12v heated blanket under the sheet. Very comfy.
@davidschumann4495 no worries David.
5kw is way too much, switch it to a 2kw heater instead
@@johnleaste828 means it can run on low and not be so noisy.
Thank u
@@theavastark6463 you're welcome
Egg and chicken; the circle of life 😆
@@ericmiddleton8367 which came first? 😁
Get your binos out and you might see the feral goats in the hills opposite. There's a half decent camp spot in the gully below. Track in is a bit rough though
@@AussieHunta I'll have to check that one out. Thanks.
I'm curious how do you sleep in a dual cab tub. Are you 4ft tall?
@@darrengray2309 5ft 11 actually and plenty of space sleeping diagonal
Brilliant! I'm going to do this to my Walden Vista.
@@cynthiaberend4877 nice
Thanks for the video mate. Im glad I found your channel. I'm very interested in your live aboard boat project. Good luck with it. I'll stay tuned ✌
Thanks. I'm hoping to have the motor back in action come the warmer months. If not i'll just paddle out and camp on it anyway.
Great video thank you for taking the time to put this together. Honestly the simplest most solid one on this. I’m in a dingy so I’ll mess with the length a bit as well for steering purposes. Thanks again!
@@matchmediafilms thanks. I hope yours works well.
Good work mate.. I take too much stuff with me to get anywhere near this idea 😂
I love being able to just pull up anywhere and jump in the back. Yeah i used to bring too much stuff too.

Great job. Very innovative use of a small space. Can't wait to see more.
Thanks. I'm actually planning to head back out tonight in fact.
Another great episode Justin, should be ready for a snow trip now.
@andrewlovett4530 yes it's good to go if we get any snow that is.
That's frustrating about the outboard. Interesting to see a GRP Cuddy boat (or half cabin) in your part of the world. It's mostly tinny style I see on UA-cam. Your boat is more like our UK small fishing boats. Hope the outboard issue gets sorted.
@anotherangleUK just a minor setback. I'll get it going eventually. It's been a dream of mine for a long time. Yes, you don't see many of these anymore. This is the specific style I wanted so that I had a cabin to sleep in.
Great vid! Just wondering what the tape was you installed around the edge of the cut floor? Thanks
Hey, great vid! what tape did you use to seal the edging of the floor?
@@JAD-o3t aluminium tape
Its called semi flex kings do them thats not a bad idear
@swanofficialmusic just need to find one that fits the narrow space.
Fold out solar is the go leave the front for the kids to sit on if safe
@swanofficialmusic yeah I was thinking that but apparently you can get panels that you can walk on now.
What did you pay for that engine ? Hopfully you get it going soon
@@swanofficialmusic too much🤑
I have been wanting to do this sort of thing for donkeys. Work just gave me a different Ute which has canopy (had a tonneau cover before) so gonna test a basic version out. I like you short floor and also corner storage / kitchen sink idea too.
Keep an eye on my channel over the next few weeks and you will see my version 3 build which is so much cooler and a way better use of the space.
How do you feel something like this awning tent holds up to wind and weather compared to a traditional ground tent?
Definitely not as good. The big flat sides become effective sails. You could use extra wall panels like the one in the video to deflect a bit of wind though.
Hopefully you can get it sorted, I’ve been enjoying watching it come along.
Thanks Beck. It's my dream so I won't be giving up easily.
Never been a boatie but had the fortune of sleeping in several from a half cabin like yours on the river to a 48ft military yacht off Sydney Harbour. A noce find is worth your time mate so hope you find that engine component. Yoshi
Thanks for the vote of confidence Master! The dream will happen eventually.
You're a very switched on guy. I don't know the first thing about engines or handyman work. LOL I wonder if the person that sold it knew about the issues? The boat is coming along very nicely.
Hey mate. Yes, the perils of buying off Facebook Marketplace. I'm sure I can get it figured out. It's been a dream of mine for a long time to have a boat I can camp on so I won't be beaten so easily.
Im also doing up my hlf cabin love ur work
What about when it rains and the awning construction doesn't handle the weight.
I usually pitch with a bit of an angle so the water runs off.
How does that work with the height of your tent?
The tent is lashed to the poles with velcro and the base can be pegged out. It doesn't take much of an angle on it for water to run off.
Thanks for the review. So how has it been going for the last year? Still working well or? There is still next to no info on these but ones come up for a good price so tossing up whether to get it. Seems like it may have been discontinued?
I love it. Has worked flawlessly.
@@AllThingsOutdoors Great to know, thanks
You're welcome
Cool. I hate camping around people like that as.well. But you guys still made the best of it.
Yeah I usually try and avoid packed camp grounds and much prefer dispersed camping but this was more about making memories with my son. Thanks for watching.
Ha, he's an adorable little pain in the ass. And you wouldn't have it any other way. Nice camp!
Summed it up in one sentence Curtis. Thanks for watching
You're such a funny dude, I love it! Been watching for some time under different channel names but this one will stick as we dont plan on going back to house and property living again. We will actually by in Myrtleford, VIC in September for a 1 month housesit on a vineyard so looking forward to exploring your neck of the woods for sure. Yoshi & Co
Ha! I don't think my wife shares your view of my humour. This wouldn't be Master Yoshi would it? I often dream of living on the road. I'm just in the process of getting my new build dialled in and should be getting out to try it shortly.
@@AllThingsOutdoors Yeah mate, Master Yoshi is right. Tom shares my daughters love for salami sticks when camping out🤪. Defo looking forward to your upcoming caravan vids but who could ever complain for a simple camp setup with your kids!
Tom definitely loves it. The new truck camper setup is a fair bit more advanced than what I've been using up till now. I can't wait to try it out.
What did you use to record that footage?
A dji osmo action camera on nightlapse setting
@@AllThingsOutdoors looks unreal 👍
Thanks
It has 600 hours of salt water use no doubt. Sounds to me your thermostat is not functioning correctly or you have a lot of build up in the water jackets
Yes. That is what is suspected
Mate before you spend anymore $ have a think will this boat meet your needs in 18 months as the boy grow. I share from experience. Have a bit of fun as it is then buy a bigger one and fully customise that .
Floor and transom will be due to be replaced😊
By now , 10 months on you will have found out that it’s too small for what your mentioned needs are , sleeping the family ect.
I'm not aiming for the family to sleep in it. Just me. It's more for day trips for the family.
Great job guys
First comment.
Im looking for a seat upgrade for my Brooklyn kayak bk184 a 9 footer. Hopefully bkc makes one.
The best upgrade I've made to my kayak.
Thanks so much for this video! My son bought a Go Find 22 and is discouraged because despite lots of beeps we could not find any targets. We were on the beach. We do not have a pin-pointer. Do you recommend we get one , and is there a good entry-level one you can please recommend? We are considering buying a Dmyond Metal Detector Pinpointer - Thank you! @AllThingsOutdoors
As soon as I got a pin pointer I was able to find so much more. The go find only gets you to the vicinity where the pin pointer does the fine tuning.
all railways should be kept ,no lifting rail
I would love that to be the case
Where is your safety vest
Cool mod thanks for the sharing the process.
Thanks Mike.
This is some proper redneck low quality shit - and I love it! Nice job my bro.
Very impressive install. I'm struggling to find reviews of the different models available and the price difference is huge. Truma Saphir (Dearest) Versus Cool-J Versus Versus Furion 9000 (cheapest) Versus Finch HB900 (a couple of poor reviews) and there may be more. I'm running a Coromal 5.2M pop top caravan. What was the primary reason for you going with the Cool-J?
Probably price and shipping. Also the HB9000 is rated for a much bigger caravan than ours so it should handle the size of ours easily. I've used it in 37°C temps and went well with our poorly insulated caravan.
Draws too many amps on 12v
I thought it was pretty good considering its running a fridge and freezer. It's definitely miles better than the fridge i replaced.
If you ever pass through Guyra near Armidale NSW we have the unfortunate distinction of having had not 1 but 2x F-111 Aardvarks crashing in the surrounding area - I dont think much if any wreckage is left @ the 1993 site - 2 Airman were unable to eject & passed away The 1973 had a successful Ejection i dont know if they recovered the rest of the plane - or if bits are still left - Might be worth a look if one day you are down here - Cheers 👍
Yes, I have passed through Guyra and was aware of the two crash sites but unfortunately time didn't permit a stop.
Subscribed! Already love your channel 30 seconds in. 😜 We sell Ryobi trimmers for a living, and I've got a bunch of em lying around, and just bought a mini pontoon, and this is by far the best and easiest Ryobi mod I've seen. Thank you for this!
The only thing letting mine down is the prop. Need to get a better one.
@@AllThingsOutdoors what prop would you use in a perfect world?
Well i used a prop designed for an electric trolling motor which obviously has the motor at the bottom with a big fairing that protects the prop hub. Mine doesn't have this so i think the prop hub is creating a lot of drag in the water. If you could either build a fairing to fit the prop hub or perhaps find a prop that has a smaller hub to create less drag that would be better. The prop i used was only 2 bladed as well so find something with more blades.
@@AllThingsOutdoors got it! Thanks for the tips! I'm gonna get a buddy who owns a 3D printing business for Ryobi tools, Wood River Workshop, to print clip-in fins for the 3-in-1 serrated blade/fixed line head that works on all the Expand-lt capable trimmers. Maybe that'll eliminate a lot of the drag, but we'll have to do a lot of trial & error, I'm sure. Thanks again! If we have any luck I'll send ya a couple.
are they PreMade? or do you have to DIY them since id love to get one when im old enough im turning 16 next year and im gonna try get a learners licence im stressing tho since if i fail what are my parents gonna think kinda thing but yeah id love to hear back from you if you know where i could get one or how to make one :D thank you. Love from New Zealand
Mine is DIY and this video shows how I built it. ua-cam.com/video/f9BoJXfsiCM/v-deo.htmlsi=n3TEwpm8W02wDJrh
@@AllThingsOutdoors Cheers
No worries
where did get the elbow you used through the floor?
I used agricultural poly water fittings that were approximately 1.5 inch internal diameter so the heater duct would fit over it and tighten down.
Great install video 👍
Thanks
Great video. Remarkably difficult to find any details about these via the online sellers. I couldnt figure out until watching this video that its literally just a 240 v stanard ac plug. I was concerned it might have needed a hard wire.
Thanks for the feedback. I will pass that onto the company as i keep in contact with them.
That old 71ci 70hp Mercury will probably outlive the 4-stroke you replace it with. I have a 1987 model I just took off my old bass boat and put on my my 98 model 14' cape horn center console to replace a blown 70hp Yamaha. After not being cranked in 5 years, all I've had to do with it is replace the fuel pump diaphragms. Did a compression check 2 days ago out of curiosity and it was a dead even 120psi across all 3 cylinders. Those engines are tanks!
